Brandon Vey
Provincial Men’s Physique CompetitorI was born and raised in a small fishing community on the east coast of Newfoundland. Population ... maybe 90 people. Saw the same people everyday, did the same thing everyday. After my 15th birthday in August I got a phone call from my Dad who had been working in Alberta for a few years.
"Brandon pack your things .. I need you and Mom here in Alberta by the 28th of August. (That's when school starts.) This is where you're going to continue on with your life and start your future here." I then left my entire family and drove across Canada with my Mom and Aunt.
Over the years I grew up into skateboarding, eating terribly, and living a pretty haggard life. I simply had enough of it. One of my friends I skated with had started going to the gym and I noticed he was putting on muscle and of course I had to ask him to take me with him one day. It was hard sticking with it because I was so intimidated. Even the girls were lifting more weight than me. But after a few months I fell in love with it.
After 5 years of weight training I got into competing and now it's the biggest part of my life. It's safe to say getting into fitness and a healthy lifestyle saved me. I couldn't even imagine where I'd be if I didn't start. I had been friends with Justin And Kirstin for many years and fresh into 2017 I joined the New Leaf Fitness family. Words can't explain my excitement in working with them and I highly recommend anyone who is either interested in stepping on stage, or even just getting into healthier lifestyle.
